Weekend 5/12-13
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday morning saw a group from NJ with 2 small kids, one of which (Joey) was in remission from lukimia. Joey was freezing his butt off so we came in early with only a few cod and flounder. Saturday afternoon was another gang from NJ (postal workers!!) who got into flounder and only a couple of cod. "Near limits", 29 flounder for 4 guys. The following day, the same 4 guys, very quiet-somewhat hung over, had a very slow pick on the flounder until the last hour when they really started to bail em. I stayed out an extra hour (at no charge as I didnt have anything going on in the afternoon) to finish the limits. The flounder this weekend were not as big as last weeks with the largest at 18 inches (about 2.5 lbs)............JC

Weds. 6/23-Alan Sharaf along with "Fisherman" writer, Willie Goldsmith of Brookline had a poor drift (weak tides and no wind)so the bass fishing was slow. Only one fat 37 inch fish was taken in three hours before we "gave in". The mosquitos were quite thick though!
Fri.6/25-Byron Fay of Ashland caught 3 bass, 36-38 inches before the sky opened up and we had to call it a night |

Mike McCusker and family of Quincy, Ma. came out for bass and thats what they got. About 15 fish in all, 30 to 40 inches (about 30 lbs) caught on clam baits around Peddocks and Quincy Bay. To top it off, Mikes brother got 4 pound, 7 ounce flounder that inhaled a big bass hook! The flounder was officially weighed at "The Sportsmans Den" and may be the biggest flounder caught in Massachusetts this year!!!

Day fishing by myself for the "Santini Contest". Loaded up on fish (early on live eels and chunking after full light) 36-42.6 inches (30 lbs). Was in third place at end of first day-was not allowed to fish second day as I took Chelsea councilwoman Rose-ann and her cousin Alyssa out for a "Santini charity event". We got a 36 incher which was good for second place. We only had "lines in" for an hour and the other boats fished for four hours.
SATURDAT NIGHT-With Gregg Davis and friends from the Stow, Ma. area had a "tough night" with 20-30 Kt winds out of the northwest. They only got a couple of keepers for their efforts. The fast drift caused many missed fish and poorly hooked fish that we lost in "mid-battle". |

However, on the afternoon trip, Cindy Clark, of Westwood, fishing with her father, Leonard, got a bunch of flounder and cod; and Cindy IS "A Fisherman Subscriber" and her 3lb., 8oz flounder will make "the board" |

The afternoon trip with Cindy Clark and friend Marie, was worse with the winds approaching gale force out of the Northwest (a "very bad" spring airflow)..They stayed in the relative calm of Peddocks (only 4 footers) for 7 or 8 BIG flounder and one 30 inch striper.
